Position paper – Exports of End-of-Life Vehicles

The European Automobile Industry assumes its producer responsibilities as stipulated by the End-of-Life Vehicles Directive 2000/53/EC. It successfully set up EU-wide End-of-Life Vehicle collection networks. The network solutions are based on contracts with various operators in the marketplace covering all aspects to ensure and fulfill high environmental standards.
ACEA and its members in principle also support regulation which is intended to restrict and/or supervise the export of waste, something which the Waste Shipment Regulation 1013/2006/EC is designed to do.
