Job opportunity: Sustainable Mobility Manager

ACEA is looking for an ambitious manager to support the EU automobile industry in its move to cleaner and greener mobility.

Reporting to and working closely with the responsible Director, the candidate will work on all major policy files related to sustainable mobility (eg electrification, CO2 emissions, Euro 7/VII, Fit for 55, Green Deal, air quality).

Job description

Support ACEA members

  • Prepare and host meetings with industry experts, facilitating discussions and helping ACEA members reach joint positions.
  • Coordinate ACEA replies to stakeholder consultations.
  • Attend major regulatory forums at EU and UN-ECE level and report on these to ACEA members.
  • Gather information on present and future regulatory initiatives.

Advocate industry positions

  • Prepare advocacy material (ACEA position papers, briefings).
  • Analyse other policy and advocacy documents, preparing ACEA’s reaction.
  • Attend various events and conferences to advocate the views of the industry.
  • Develop a strong network across different industry and NGO stakeholders.
  • Represent the views of the EU auto industry in other industry associations (eg OICA, BusinessEurope).

Profile of candidate

  • Strong automotive technical background (eg masters-level engineering-based degree), preferably with relevant work experience in the automotive sector and/or regulations.
  • Good understanding of the EU decision-making process and the Brussels bubble.
  • Outgoing personality who is self-motivated and takes responsibility.
  • Capacity to easily adapt and connect with people.
  • Ability to listen and steer discussions, and to find consensus and compromise.
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills. A working knowledge of German or French (or Chinese) would help.
