Job opportunity: Communications Manager

The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) is looking for an experienced Communications Manager who can combine editorial flair, creative ideas, political savvy and technical skills to become our storyteller and digital comms leader.

Reporting to and working closely with ACEA’s Communications Director, this person will work on the following:

  • Content editor: crafting and diffusing our policy messages in engaging ways (written and visual) across different channels.
    • Drafting, copy-editing and proofreading of ACEA publications, including reports, presentations, news articles, editorials, press releases, etc
    • Developing (ideas for) creative content in support of our policy messages (infographics, data visualisations, interactive maps, etc)
    • Handling and drafting of answers to press enquiries
  • Digital communications: in charge of ACEA’s online communications channels and of implementing our exciting new video advocacy project.
    • Managing the ACEA website, including content creation and editorial planning
    • Daily handling of ACEA’s social media activities (content planning, engagement, monitoring and community building)
    • Coordinating online campaigns (social advertising, search engine marketing, SEO, etc)
    • Creating audio-visual material (in-house video editing and production)
    • Supervising ongoing projects with external consultants (eg web developer, graphic designers, agencies)
    • Managing ACEA’s monthly newsletter and mailing system


  • Native-level English with excellent written and verbal comms skills
  • Around five years of relevant work experience (eg journalist, communications agency, trade association)
  • Good understanding of political/policy communications and the EU decision making process
  • Familiarity with website management, WordPress in particular
  • Experienced user of Adobe Suite (Photoshop and Premiere especially, basic knowledge of InDesign is a plus) or similar software, MS Office (PowerPoint in particular)
  • Basic knowledge of HTML
