15th Annual ACEA-JAMA Consultation

03/03/2014 – The European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) today met with representatives of the Japanese Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (JAMA), led by their Mr Yoshiyasu NAO, president of JAMA, for their annual consultation meeting.

The agenda included several regulatory and technical points. Additionally, particular attention was paid to focusing on trade issues, including the EU-Japan FTA negotiations, as well as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).

Speaking after the meeting Erik Jonnaert, Secretary General of ACEA, said “The meeting was a productive opportunity to exchange views on present and upcoming issues that affect both the European and Japanese automobile industries;  ACEA indicated to JAMA what still needs to be done to create the conditions for a mutually beneficial FTA between the EU and Japan.”
